Master of Engineering in Hydrodynamics and Ocean Engineering

This program aims at giving students an advanced training on typical problems of Free Surface Hydrodynamics applied to Ocean Engineering: Ship Resistance, Seakeeping, Wave-Structure Interactions, Water Wave Modeling, Marine Renewable Energy Systems, etc. Physical, Modeling, Numerical and Experimental aspects are studied. Training involves theoretical courses together with practical use of softwares to solve problems defined above through a large variety of numerical methods. The academic large scale facilities available at Centrale Nantes: a towing tank (150m long) and a large ocean wave basin (50m length, 30m width and 5m depth with a multiflap wavemaker able to generate complex multidirectional waves) will also contribute to the teaching program of the master.
